New Directions in Addictions and Mental Health Services Explored at National Council Conference, May 2-4, in San Diego

SHLI Behavioral Health launches new website
Dr. Martha Okafor and the staff of the Office of Behavioral Health are proud to launch their web presence designed to bring focus and depth to the many exciting happenings in The Satcher Health Leadership Institute’s Center for Behavioral Health. The site features a robust portal that covers news, conferences, SHLI partnerships and regular updates on new programs and projects.


Partnership for Access and Quality
The first project is a partnership with Georgia State Department of Behavioral Health and Addictive Diseases and Kaiser Permanente to increase access to mental health services and treatment at Grady Hospital Emergency Department, and improve community-based provider network by integrating mental health into primary care settings within the greater Atlanta area. This partnership involves MSM Department of Psychiatry and Grady Hospital.


Neighborhood Healthy Child Development Project
The Office of Behavioral Health has partnered with the NIH to introduce The program emphasizes going out into the community and facilitating a dialogue between families and health care workers.


The Satcher Health Leadership Institute partners with the Carter Center and the Nathaniel Anthony Ayers Foundation for Mental Health Forum - The Soloist: Through the Eyes of Neuroscience, Journalism, Policy and the Arts [event program]
